Nearshoring

If you’ve been keeping an eye on manufacturing trends, you’ve probably noticed a major shift. Big names—Nike, Apple, and Tesla, to name a few—are rethinking where they make their products. After years of relying on distant factories, they’re moving production closer to home. And it’s not just a passing fad; this is a strategic pivot that’s reshaping global supply chains.

Why? Because nearshoring—producing goods closer to where they’re sold—is proving to be more efficient, sustainable, and reliable. For startups and product entrepreneurs, it opens up massive opportunities. Wondering how to jump in? We’ve got you covered—with a $5,000 grant to help you make the leap.

What is Nearshoring?

Nearshoring involves relocating your manufacturing to a country or region closer to your main market. Think fewer shipping delays, less hassle with customs, and easier oversight of product quality. You also benefit from reduced costs, faster turnaround times, and a smaller carbon footprint—big wins for any growing business.

At Nearshore, we have factories in 11+ countries, across USA, Canada, Latin America and Europe.

Besides bringing in more predictability to your supply chain, businesses are Nearshoring for the following reasons:

  • Faster turnaround times. Forget waiting months for products to arrive. Nearshoring cuts lead times dramatically.
  • More control over quality. Being closer to your factory means fewer surprises and better oversight.
  • Lower shipping costs and fewer delays. No more dealing with unpredictable freight costs and port congestion.
  • More sustainable production. Less transportation means a smaller carbon footprint—something today’s consumers actually care about.

Who is Eligible for the Nearshoring Grant?

If you’re a product entrepreneur looking to nearshore your supply chain, this is for you. We’re particularly interested in founders who:

  • Have under $5M in annual revenue
  • Produce a physical product
  • Are ready to bring manufacturing closer to home
  • Operate in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, or Europe

Funding + Factory Network

You don’t have to be a billion-dollar brand to benefit from nearshoring. In fact, moving production closer to home can give you a competitive edge from day one. But it takes planning—and sometimes a little financial boost. That’s where we come in.

We’re awarding $5,000 to three entrepreneurs ready to nearshore their supply chain. Each grant includes:

  • $5,000 credit with a nearshore factory
  • Access to our network of manufacturers in the U.S., Latin America, and Europe
  • A Feature on our platform (hello, exposure!)
  • Guidance from experts who’ve successfully done this before

How to Apply

We’re keeping it simple:

  1. Tell us about your product and why you’re excited about nearshoring.
  2. Submit either a written application or a 60-second video pitch.

Applications Details

  • Opens on April 3, 2025
  • Close on May 3, 2025
  • Winners will be announced May 15, 2025

Nearshore News: U.S.–China Trade Truce Resurfaces, Rare Earths Resume, and Global Tariff Rules Face a Rethink
As the latest round of U.S.–China trade talks wraps in London, signs of progress are emerging, but the road ahead is still shaped by politics and legal uncertainty. President Trump confirmed that rare earth exports from China will resume immediately, Chinese students will be allowed back into U.S. universities, and a reworked trade truce is on the table. Meanwhile, the World Bank is calling on U.S. trade partners to lower their tariffs—effectively backing Trump’s long-running complaint. And despite ongoing legal challenges, a federal court has allowed the administration’s contested tariffs to remain in place for now, preserving U.S. leverage as negotiations continue.
